For the past 20 years, Katie has worked with children across a variety of pediatric settings including schools (public and therapeutic day), clinical settings (hospital and private) and early intervention.
During her time working at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Katie gained valuable experience serving as a multidisciplinary team member for Lurie’s Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. She also provided bilingual speech and language services at Lurie’s multiple Outpatient Centers and assisted in establishing a bilingual speech and language clinic for the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago (in partnership with Lurie).
Following a move to the suburbs, Katie returned to her roots as a school-based SLP and spent several years working for Wilmette Public Schools. Katie served as District 39’s Early Childhood Itinerant SLP and multidisciplinary team member for the Lechner Early Education Center.

Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Katie has since resided in Chicago, Milwaukee, California and New Mexico. She completed a semester abroad in Madrid and later spent a summer volunteering at Ministerios De Amor, a group home for children under five years of age in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Katie currently lives in Evanston with her artist husband, two teen children and a Bernadoodle. Katie enjoys gathering with family and friends, traveling, throwing pottery and hiking out west.
